An all-bearing conversation with my high school sweetheart, so to speak, made me realize (when i say made, i actually mean forced) some shit... shit that I've tossed around for months, months turning into years...

She changed my life...

At first that seemed a bit excessive, but after our conversation, its nothing short of the absolute and undiluted truth...

So pretty much me and her were in a relationship senior year of high school, and as with almost any HS relationship, it was constantly mired in controversy and other nonsense, but through it all we had each other, as corny as it may sound, and thats all that was necessary...

so I thought...

Soon enough, the shit was deaded by her (rather unexpectedly might I add) but it was obvious(to me at least) the feelings were still being reciprocated thereafter, which added to the bafflement the actual break up brought me...

Well I soon found out, enter the next nigga...a nigga that was always there, always around, never seemed to go away.. i actually had an inkling from way back but never really made an effort to enquire into it... Either way, I felt type foolish amongst other things... I never really externally displayed this of course, I just moved on, as per what the player's handbook's states, lol, (sorry i needed some comic relief)

I didnt speak to said ex-gf until the summer leading up to our respective freshman year's in college, and even then I subconsciously felt a mixture of maddddddd emotions about the sudden contact (she initated it )....

Since then, she's become like my right hand girl, I love her to death...

even with that, there was an cloud of uncertainty over how our relationship ended, as we never even ventured anywhere near the subject...

until today...

I never knew how much this shit was effecting from day to day, until this very moment...

we spoke for about an hour, her being entirely truthful about shit as well as myself...

and she helped me realized that the whole experience just made me... cold...for lack of a better word...

nah that probably accurately describes it...

in essence, i pretty much guard myself from liking a girl too much or letting my emotions flow freely...

Fast forward to 2009; Unbelievably, I havent had a GF since 2006... her being the last one...

I've talked to almost every type of girl since then, liked a couple,

liked a couple alot, hell maybe even loved one...

but no cigar...

I'm as sure as shit that I've probably been cast as a nigga that's "unwifeable"...

But to be absolutely truthful, I couldnt be...

I wouldnt have been the dude that I needed to be at the point...

Ironically, I pretty much pride myself on my ability to easily get over shit rather quickly, but this wasnt something i couldnt get over... i had to really do some Evanka overthinking on this shit, (lol) one thing that i hate doing...

Now throughout all my years of living, (I've been crossing the street by myself since '96)... I've only once made contact with a moving automobile... (of course it was a reckless ass taxi)

so I was in bklyn, crossing the street adjacent to the train station. it had been snowing all day and the snow had begun to accumulate. the light is CLEARLY red and had been so for about 5 to 10 seconds...I begin to cross AND as I do, a Jeep SUV nears the crosswalk at about 10 mph. I look at the driver as I always do, and this motherfucker's head is turned completely to the left... So I'm standing in the direct path of the jeep, ready to give my " if-you-woulda-hit-me-there-woulda-been-a-problem" look to the driver ... but guess what? This White guy never turns his fucking head and then... THIS NIGGA HITS ME... First my legs; then my hands hit the hood ... and he STILL hasn't stopped... it takes him about 2 full seconds to stop AFTER he turned around. I stumble back about 4 feet, and I immediately felt so much instant anger it was as if this man was responsible for every wrong ever done to me in my life. then he rolls down his window:

First and foremost, the actresses that played Faith Evans (Antonique Smith) and Lil' Kim (Naturi Naughton)... were more attractive then the actual women they portrayed... sheeeeeeesh. lol.

Anywho, went to see Notorious yesterday... I was gonna rock the old school Coogi sweater (just for the one night lol) but as i expected, it was just too DAMN BIG. i was inadvertently "overmatching" (lol word to Bebe) but ehhh, I didn't care. For the movie itself, it was well put together i thought, and developed all the characters pretty nicely (except Pac, it pretty much made him look like an ABSOLUTE NUT CASE). Towards the end, when they started blending in real footage, I got this sweep of nostalgia; I remember seeing all that footage, when they carried Biggie's casket down Fulton Street, and everyone in general were just downtrodden... At the time, i just had started listening to Biggie so i hadn't really realized the actual impact he had had other than his music. People actually saw him as inspiration to get up, get out and get something, which can't really be measured...

Back in the day it was a craft and you had to practice on it every day and you had to get better at it. umm lemme see...
so New Year's, biggest single party night of the year... and no one could find a party...lol. It didnt help that it was -4367 degrees outside (actually 19 degrees with a windchill of -4) or that our planned activities were falling through as rapidly as the temperature was dropping.

So of course, all my out-of-town friends advised me to go see the ball drop... which is absolutely off limits to any mentally sound New Yorker... ESPECIALLY in this weather... standing around with annoying tourists as you try to stave off hypothermia...not my thing.

Finally, we had a breakthrough; PARTY in Long Island. "Not so fast my friend."*Lee Corso voice* After picking up the last of the tribe, it was already 11:20...Since we couldnt make the party in time, we brought the party to us!!

My brother from another Akeem, has the DJ equipment, so we just partied the night away... From what i remember, (which speaks to how my night went,lol) a couple girlies came as well... a couple more of my brethren came as well...

so i'm at home, while its snowing like crazy outside. I posted a couple of things on ebay for sale... check em out...they'll prolly never see the light of day again... and what better way to upstart my hustle for 2009. So i was on Charles Hamilton blog, and he posted this WWF match from about 10 years ago. It was the first EVER TLC match (Tables, Ladders & Chairs) for the Tag Team Championship between The Hardy Boys, Dudley Boys, and Edge & Christian, with Edge and Christian finally winning. It's def. one of the best matches EVER, top 5 easily. So me being me, this sparked like some frenzied search for WWF/WCW footage from the time period, on Youtube of course... smh.

And at the lowest point, it was about 9pm, raining and I was just informed that only the next 20 people were going to get an OPPORTUNITY to buy a ticket (of course I was like 60 people back)... and just as I had lost all hope.. Evanka, KIKIB and the Headbangaz to the rescue! After a few underhanded pass offs, I had a photographer's pass..lol... straight to the VIP... yippie! Now for the show...

Kid Cudi opened with a couple of his underground hits.. Dat New new", "Heaven at night" "Is There Any Love"; he even dropped some new ish.. He had the crowd engaged and active..and he saved his most recognizable song "Day N Nite" (produced by the Headbangaz) to close his set.. Jim Jones joined him to perform his freestyle over the beat. altogether, dope ass set.. and dope ass kicks btw...
Thought they were from the Major Taylor pack... obviously not. Look to be ID's..

Then Wale entered the stage along with the UCB Band. He played a couple of songs from the mixtape.. He brought out Chrisette Michelle for "the roots song wale is on" ([pardon the mixtape jargon). He then brought out my man Pusha T for "The feature heavy song" which really got me on my feet. Following that... Freeway and Young Chris came out in what was a slight suprise to some."What We Do" dropped, causing the already rambunctious crowd to become more frenzied, and Freeway stormed out on the stage; Young Chris performed "No Better Love" and then all 3 performed "08 cipher" ... so basically my ipod's recently played playlist was right in front of me. Ryan Leslie finished up the surprise guest set with a rendition of "Addiction" backed by the live UCB band

Wale then ended the whole night after performing "Nike Boots" of course... All in all.. the night was worth the weight. word to Ariana. lol.
